Masjid Al Falaah Expansion Project
Our Current Need:
Two properties adjacent to our current property are up for sale. It is a blessing and we are planning to purchase both the properties for our masjid expansion project. This will add an additional 4+ acres of land to our masjid property. The funds needed for the purchase of both the properties total about $475,000.
Our Humble Beginning
The Muslims living in Harford County Maryland had to travel long distances to offer Jumah Salaah. The closest masjid at that time was more than 25 miles away. The masjid with regular five times salaah was even farther, about 45 minutes’ drive. Harford County Muslims did not have a place to offer five times obligatory prayers or salatul taraveeh in Ramadan.
By the Grace of Allah (SWT) before Ramadan of 2007, a group of Muslims joined to start Taraveeh prayer. They rented a garage and hired a well-educated Imam to lead the Taraveeh prayers. From day one, five times prayers were established. This is how Masjid Al Falaah in Harford County, Maryland came into existence.
Alhamdulillah, the Muslim community in Harford County is growing. In 2009 we purchased a property with 5 acres of land. We have converted a barn into masjid where five times prayers and Juma’a prayers are offered. Subsequently we also purchased an adjacent property with half an acres of land.
Since our inception in 2007, we have been cited by the local state and national media. Local newspapers have written few editorials praising our role in bringing people of different faiths together.
URGENT APPEAL
We are trying to raise funds so we can pay it off in full Insha Allah. We will be holding several fundraising events as well as asking for Qard- e- Hasana for this expansion project. Please donate generously. If you have funds that can be spared for this noble cause please contact us. You will get it back yearly, based on a mutually agreed upon schedule Insha’ Allah.
Please help us accomplish this noble expansion project. Any help in this great cause will go a long way. Insha’ Allah you will see it in your pile of good deeds on the Day of Judgment.
